Fuller Craft Museum: let the art touch you
I started folding books by chance. Soon after 9/11 I found myself on a long international flight with one of the few allowable carry-on items: a book. Not long into the flight, I finished the book. A paperback mystery I had no interest in keeping. With hours to go, nothing to do, and nothing to lose, I started to fold the pages. The more I folded, the more intrigued I became as the book was transformed into a piece of art. I’ve been folding books ever since, always searching for a new design.
The books in this installation are cookbooks. My six designs are created from one basic fold.
